Dr. Mukul Mutatkar is a Consultant Radiologist from Pune working in the fields of Imaging, Vascular and Interventional Radiology for nearly three decades.
A graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and post-graduate of the B.J Medical College (BJMC) Pune, he underwent training for MRI and CT in the USA, Germany, Japan and Australia, He has also trained in France and UK with short sessions in Trivandrum and Japan for Interventional Radiology.
Dr. Mutatkar pioneered MRI in Pune at the Ruby Hall Clinic in 1989, at that time the 2nd MRI centre in India. He is one of the Founder Directors of the Omega MRI Centre as well as the PDS CT Scan Centre and is also a Consultant Radiologist at both these centres.
In addition he holds attachments at the Poona Hospital, Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Jehangir Hospital, Sahyadri Hospitals, Inamdar Hospital, Joshi Hospital, Ratna Hospital, Columbia Asia Hospital, Apollo Spectra and Aditya Birla Hospital for whole body vascular and non-vascular Interventional Radiology procedures including neuro and aortic interventions, being the first Interventional Radiologist in Pune.
His involvement at Poona Hospital for diagnostic ultrasound imaging and ultrasound guided interventional procedures is profound.
He is actively involved in teaching sessions for post graduate students of Radiology, Medicine and surgery at various teaching hospitals. In addition, he is actively sought after as a speaker for CME’s organised by different specialities due to his grasp of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology.
With the medical practice, he continues to be involved with IT companies like Capgemini for development of IT enabled services (ITES) in Radiology as a consultant. For two years he was the Chief Radiologist for the Indian arm of Merge Healthcare USA, a leading provider of Enterprise Imaging Solutions.
He is also the founder and CEO of Purdes Radiology, a flourishing Remote Radiology services company.
